This site is a Dutch tribute to the music and work from the late Marc Bolan, frontman of T.Rex. Marc Bolan and T.Rex played here three times as far as I know, in the late sixties in Utrecht, in 1970 he played the Kralingen popfestival in Rotterdam, and in 1971 with T.Rex he did two shows, one in Rotterdam and one in Amsterdam. T.Rex had only three hit singles in the charts (top 40): Hot love, Get it On and Jeepster. All the others failed to reach the top 40. His albums didn’t reach the album top 40.
My first T.Rex album was Ride a White Swan, the purple Music for Pleasure release, which I found in the ‘cheap’ corner of the record store where I bought my first vinyl. It must have been winter 1972. Over the years I collected several Marc Bolan / T.Rex albums and singles. From 1975 onwards I bought the last three lifetime albums around the period they were released. Buying them was always a special event, it took me some real investigating to find out which shop had the albums. I remember the sensation of listening the latest Marc Bolan album. I was a big fan!
Over the years there have been so many Marc Bolan / T.Rex vinyl releases that I lost count. Some people must have made a fortune with all these releases. It makes Marc Bolan & T.Rex a wanted artist for collectors.
For me personally it’s the original lifetime releases that count. Here we are with a clear oversight on Bolan’s Dutch lifetime releases, which aren’t that much. I hopefully contribute in keeping alive the music of this great artist and entertainer.
Hope you enjoy this site!
